It was recently reported that Pokemon Go had brought over $400 million dollars in the couple of months that it has been out. The game has been setting records ever since the day it was released. It was the most downloaded app ever during its first week and was the fastest app to reach 50 million installs on the Google Play Store. Pokemon Go is now estimated to be the fastest game ever to reach $500 million in revenue.
Niantic Labs hasn’t provided its own figures for Pokemon Go, but during Apple’s event yesterday, it did say that Pokemon Go has been downloaded more than 500 million times globally ever since it was released and that players have walked over 4.6 billion kilometers combined while playing this popular game.
App Annie estimates that Pokemon Go has crossed $500 million in global revenue stemming from consumer spending across iOS and Android, the two widely used mobile platforms on which it’s available. The game is on track to hit the one billion in revenue milestone by the end of this year.
The report mentions that Pokemon Go has hit the half-a-billion milestone within just 60 days of its launch. Its closest competitor is Candy Crush Saga which took more than 200 days to bring in the same amount of revenue. Puzzle & Dragons is in third place, it took more than 400 days to reach this milestone.
