The other day Samsung sent out invites to a press conference that would be held ahead of IFA 2016. In the invite, it showed a pair of watch hands which seemed to confirm that the Gear S3 smartwatch would be unveiled at said event. In case that wasn’t a big enough clue, Samsung has since published another invite.
As you can see in the image above, it leaves little to the imagination. It shows a watch face and its tagline reads, “Talk About 3”. While we can assume that this is in reference to the Gear S3, we have also heard rumors that Samsung has at least three variants of the Gear S3 planned, so maybe the “3” could be hinting at that as well.
The title of the invite also says, “Samsung’s New Gear Launch Event”, so yes, we can safely say that the Gear S3 will be officially revealed on the 31st of August, 2016. The invite also pretty much confirms that the Gear S3 will sport a circular face. This was the case with the Gear S2 and is in line with the rumors we have been hearing. Plus there really is no reason for Samsung to be changing the design of the watch face given that circular faces are pretty common these days.
