There has been a lot of conflicting reports recently about the new MacBook Pro that Apple is expected to release in the coming months. Rumor has it that the notebook is going to feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor as well as touch-sensitive OLED function keys. A recent report claimed that both will not be present on the new MacBook Pro but now it’s being said that the fingerprint sensor and the new row of function keys will most certainly be present on the new MacBook Pro.
9to5mac claims to have heard from a source who has provided reliable information in the past that the new MacBook Pro has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the touch-sensitive OLED function key row. This means that the upcoming MacBook Pro might be the first notebook from Apple to have both of these features.
It’s claimed that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the power button allowing for the same one-touch process to power on and authenticate the user as the iPhone. Additional features this notebook is expected to have include a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support.
Previous rumors suggest that the new MacBook Pro models, powered by the latest processors from Intel, will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. Apple hasn’t confirmed anything as yet about its future MacBook plans.
