The gaming monitor market continues to grow and become more competitive as several major companies compete for a chunk of the pie. Dell happens to be one of those companies and it has now launched a new 24 inch gaming monitor which is basically a smaller yet improved version of the 27 inch gaming monitor it came out with last year. Dell will be hoping to further establish its footing in the gaming monitor market with the new S2417DG gaming monitor that promises superior performance at a relatively affordable price.
Aside from the obvious size difference, the 24 inch gaming monitor is actually quite similar to its 27 inch sibling. It has the same 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution and 1000L1 contrast ratio. It features four USB 3.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 as well as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack like the 27 inch model.
The next big difference is a bit technical but it’s one of those things that serious gamers consider when they are out in the market for a new monitor. The 24 inch monitor has a 165Hz variable refresh rate as compared to the 27 inch’s 144Hz.
It also features NVIDIA G-Sync which aids in reducing screen tearing, stuttering, and ghost images. Those who are interested in picking up the Dell S2417DG gaming monitor can do so from Amazon and other retailers for $569.
