Xiaomi is known mostly for their smartphones, although they are also doing pretty well in the wearables department. The company has also expanded its offerings by launching drones, and it looks like they are planning on competing in the computer market as well as the company has launched the Mi Notebook Air.
Right off the bat if you are mistaking the photo above as the MacBook Air from Apple, we guess you can’t be blamed. It really doesn’t take a genius to figure out the inspiration for both the name and the design of the laptops, but from what we know of the specs, that’s pretty much where the similarities end.
Some have criticized the MacBook Airs for being expensive and underpowered, and it looks like the Mi Notebook Air is anything but. The laptop is offered in 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch options, both of which will sport Full HD displays, but the 13.3-inch model will come with an Intel Core i5 processor., by 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and it even packs a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU.
The 12.5-inch model isn’t as powerful as it will come with an Intel Core m3 processor with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, and there will not be a dedicated GPU. The 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air is priced at around $750, while the 12.5-inch model will retail for around $520, but unfortunately there’s no mention of it coming to the US.
