If you have been following the news, you might have heard how Pokemon GO has been slowly making its way around the world. So far the rollout has been a bit slow with the game being released a few countries at a time. However over the weekend, we saw its biggest release with 27 new countries being added to the list.
However this only covers a fraction of the markets around the world, but gamers should be reassured knowing that Niantic has plans for a bigger push soon. According to a report from Reuters, Niantic’s CEO John Hanke revealed that the company had plans to rollout the game to as many as 200 markets “relatively soon”.
He said that the company was working on bolstering its server capacity ahead of time to ensure that if and when it does rollout to more users, it will be able to handle the extra load of traffic without crashing. Unfortunately Hanke declined to provide a more detailed timeframe for future rollouts, so we guess gamers will just have to wait.
So far the game has been a huge hit amongst players around the world and becoming a cultural phenomenon pretty quickly where even non-gamers have heard about it. We’ll be keeping an eye out for future rollouts so do check back with us in the near future for more updates on the game’s availability.
