You know those “clever” iPhone cases that are shaped like guns? Last year the police had warned people about carrying them around because when tucked into one’s pants, they do look like a gun which we guess is kind of the point, but from a safety perspective, it’s rather dangerous because people could panic, or the police could mistake it for the real deal and shoot you.
However it seems that there are some who think that it’s a good idea, like a man in London who recently got into a spot of trouble when the police caught him with the case. The police in Essex decided to publicly shame the fellow on Twitter where they stated that they are considering filing charges against him.
According to the police, “We would go with Sec 5 Public Order and possibly Sec 19 Possession of Imitation Firearm in a Public Place.” Whether or not they are going through with it remains to be seen, but you can obviously tell by the tone in their message that they are not too thrilled or happy with this situation.
They then proceeded to warn travelers not to sport such cases in the future. So far online retailers such as eBay and Amazon have since banned the sales of these items following the warnings issued by law enforcement.
