Recent reports suggest that the LG G5 hasn’t performed as well as the company would have hoped which means that it needs to pin its hopes on another flagship device. LG came out with the V10 last year, it was quite different from other flagship smartphones and was well received, and perhaps the successor could do even better. A new report out of Korea suggests that LG is going to launch the V20 later this year in early September.
ETNews reports that while LG hasn’t made the name of the V10 successor final yet, it’s more likely that the handset is going to be called LG V20 instead of LG V11.
The company is also said to be moving up the launch from late September/early October to early September because it reportedly wants fans to get excited about a new flagship handset.
No details about the specifications of this handset have surfaced online yet so we may have to wait for a while to find out what the V10’s successor is going to do differently than its predecessor.
This report also claims that Samsung is going the Galaxy Note 7 immediately after the announcement on August 2nd, it’s not going to wait like last year and release the handset three weeks after its launch because it wants to capitalize on the strong performance of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
