We’re sure that many of you guys have found a clip on YouTube that you can’t wait to share with your friends. Unfortunately on mobile, sharing videos is a bit convoluted and not as straightforward as copying the link and pasting it (although there is that option, but you’ll still need to launch the app you want to paste it in).
However it looks like YouTube is rolling out a new feature that will making sharing much easier. This will be accomplished by a messenger feature that lets you create chats with your friends in which you can share links with them directly. This means that you won’t ever have to leave the app in order to share links, which we can only imagine was by design.
While messaging other YouTubers is a feature that has been around, it sounds like this will be a more bonafide messenger akin to Hangouts or Facebook Messenger. Unfortunately the feature isn’t 100% live yet. YouTube is expected to roll it out to a small percentage of users, but those users can then spread the feature by inviting other friends into conversations and so on.
No word on when the feature will be fully rolled out to all of YouTube’s users, but this definitely sounds like an interesting feature that might be worth checking out in the future.
