More often than not, the patents we’ve seen from Apple so far show the different ways that the Cupertino company plans to make your iPhone an invaluable tool in your daily life. However it isn’t always business at Apple because according to a recently discovered patent, it seems that Apple has considered how the iPhone could be used for fun and games as well.
Basically the patent suggests how the iPhone could be used as a laser tag gun. This will rely on the iPhone’s accelerometer along with Bluetooth, WiFi, and cellular. It will also rely on Apple’s indoor mapping tools in which iPhone owners will be able to setup their own multiplayer games in which they can then play with each other.
Unfortunately given that this is a patent, there’s no guarantee that Apple will ever make it a reality. Also given that we haven’t really seen Apple release their own game, we’re guessing that this patent is more about exploring the idea of using the iPhone as a game controller of sorts, along with how it could be used with indoor mapping tools.
In any case we have to say we love the idea of a laser tag iPhone game, but whether or not Apple will make our dreams come true is really anyone’s guess, but what say you?
