It has been a year since Google Photos launched with a mission to be the home for all of your photos and videos. The service offers features for easy organization of photos and videos, and the features appear to have resonated with users, as Google has revealed that just one year after it was launched Google Photos now has more than 200 million users across the globe.
Each month, more than 200 million people around the world are using Google Photos. The service has delivered more than 1.6 billion animations, collages, and movies.
Since it stores everything in the cloud, Google Photos has saved up to 12.7 petabytes of storage on users’ devices. It has also applied 2 trillion labels, 24 billion of those labels have been for selfies alone.
To celebrate the first birthday of this hit product, the Google Photos team has put up their favorite tips and tricks for this service on the Google blog. This will enable users to go through the service much faster and take advantage of the powerful features that it offers, more effectively.
This is merely the first year for Google Photos and it has been shown considerable interest by users. It’s likely that Google Photos will continue to grow and become one of the many outstanding feathers in Google’s cap.
