Bang & Olufsen is a company that many associate with high-end audio and visual products. While many of us probably can’t afford the company’s products, they have entered into partnerships with other companies in the past to lend their technology and branding for products. In fact the most recent partnership we’ve seen is with LG and the LG G5.
For those unfamiliar, the LG G5 has an audio module that they created in partnership with Bang & Olufsen, but it looks like that’s not where the partnership ends. The company has recently announced that they will be entering into a strategic technology partnership with LG Electronics in which they will be helping with the development and production of televisions.
Like we said, the company’s products tend to be pretty pricey and according to critics, not only are they pricey but they tend to lag behind in terms of technological features compared to other television makers. However with this partnership, the company believes that this will allow them to focus on their core competencies, like acoustics and design, while presumably LG will handle the rest of the TV’s technology.
There is hope that with this partnership, Bang & Olufsen will be able to push out OLED-based televisions come 2017.
