Earlier today we reported that Twitter announced a new feature in which users can search for GIFs and send them in direct messages (DM). However it looks like that isn’t all that Twitter has introduced today. In a follow-up announcement, Twitter also announced that users will now be able to capture and send videos directly in DMs as well.
According to the post by Twitter Support, it looks like this feature has already begun rolling out to iOS and Android users as we speak. “Starting today, you can capture & share videos in your Direct Messages. It’s rolling out globally on iOS & Android.” This is an interesting feature as it would bring Twitter’s DM feature on par with other messaging services.
So far Twitter has been making a lot of changes and introducing a bunch of new features to help themselves stay relevant in today’s social media world. Just recently Twitter made some changes to its timeline in which the most important tweets will be displayed first, thus ensuring that its users won’t miss out on them. This is a completely optional feature that users will have to enable.
In any case like we said, this video capture and sharing via DM is already live so if you have the Twitter app on your iOS or Android device, fire it up to check it out.
