If you don’t want your browsing history to be stored on the computer you use the private browsing mode of your browser. Those who are on Windows 10 and use Microsoft Edge recently found out that the browser’s InPrivate mode was caching visited URLs which means that anybody could access their history if they just got hold of their hard drive. Microsoft has fixed this issue in the latest Windows 10 update.
The InPrivate feature is supposed to give users the peace of mind that their browsing history will not be stored on the computer so if it starts caching visited URLs then that just defeats the purpose. Microsoft did say that it was committed to making things right as soon as possible and now it has.
The latest update for Windows 10 fixes the caching issue in Microsoft Edge browser when using InPrivate mode. It also fixes several issues with authentication, update installation and operating system installation. An issue that didn’t allow simultaneous install of apps from the Windows Store and updates from Windows Update has also been fixed.
Microsoft has also improved security in Windows kernel with this update and applied several security fixes which will go a long way in keeping users secure.
