If you’re looking for a straightforward camera that can take good quality photos, cameras like the Sony RX100 series and the Fujifilm X100 series might be worth checking out. However if you’re more of a Canon photographer, you will be pleased to learn that Canon has recently announced their latest camera – the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II.
This camera is part of Canon’s PowerShot G7 lineup and just like Sony’s RX100 series of cameras, Canon’s latest camera will also pack a 1-inch sensor of the 20.1MP CMOS variety. This puts it above the level of other compacts, so if you’re after better control and better image quality, this could be the camera for you.
It comes with a fixed lens with a 40x Optical Zoom, meaning that this is not an interchangeable lens camera. According to Canon, its 40x zoom is equivalent to 24-960mm, so you will be able to get a variety of shots from it. It also has an aperture of f/1.8 which is pretty wide, a 3-inch touchscreen display, Full HD video capture, built-in WiFi and NFC, in-camera RAW conversion, a control ring lever, and Canon’s Intelligent Imaging Stabilizing system.
It is priced at $699.99 and is expected to go on sale starting this May.
