Acer is cementing its place on the Windows 10 bandwagon with the launch of a new smartphone, the Liquid Jade Primo is a 5.5-inch handset that runs Windows 10 Mobile. It boasts decent specifications and will provide users with access to some great productivity features like Continuum, which enables users to hook up their handset with a monitor and essentially use it as a desktop PC.
Acer Liquid Jade Primo has a sleek and slim design with a curved back cover so that it sits comfortably in the hand, on the front there’s a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED on-cell touch display.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Also onboard is a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel wide-angle front camera. LTE Cat. 6 and 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi are available as well.
There’s an advanced cooling system inside the handset to ensure that resource-intensive multitasking continues without any problems, the system efficiently dissipates heat from the processor while also reducing the surface temperature.
BitLocker technology on Windows 10 Mobile allows for full encryption of user data that’s locally stored. Corporate users will also find that the handset supports multiple device management solutions like Open Mobile Alliance Device Management and Microsoft InTune.
Acer will release the Liquid Jade Primo in EMEA by February with prices starting from €569, the handset will then be gradually rolled out in other markets where pricing will be confirmed closer to availability
