From the looks of it, HTC might be expanding its Desire brand to cover tablets as well. An unreleased HTC tablet has been spotted on GFXBench bearing model number IV5001-A and it’s believed that this tablet will be launched as the HTC Desire T7. No word from HTC as yet about an incoming tablet so it’s unclear if and when the Desire T7 will arrive, and in which countries it will be launched initially.
The benchmark result on GFXBench reveals that this tablet has a 6.9 inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It’s powered by a 1.3GHz quadcore Spreadtrum SC8830 processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage.
Desire T7 also has 5 megapixel cameras on the front and back, aside from Android 5.0 Lollipop, a handful of sensors and connectivity options which include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There doesn’t appear to be a cellular version of this tablet yet. Given that the Desire T7 has mid-range specifications and a Spreadtrum processor, it’s likely that this tablet might be made with Asian markets in mind.
One can expect HTC to unveil this tablet at Mobile World Congress 2016 which takes place next month. HTC was previously expected to unveil its next flagship smartphone at the event but recent reports claim that HTC is going to conduct a separate event in March to launch the HTC One M10.
