If there was one criticism that the previous Samsung Galaxy flagships had, it was that they lacked microSD card support. Sure, they offered storage sizes up to 128GB, but these models tend to be a lot more expensive than buying a microSD card. The good news is that the Galaxy S7 could change that.
According to VentureBeat, they have heard from their sources that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge could sport microSD card slots and will be compatible with cards up to 200GB in storage. This means that if you were to opt for the 128GB model, in theory you could have more than 300GB of storage for your phone.
This also seems to be in line with what we have heard on the rumor front as well. The report also reveals additional rumored features, such as bigger batteries. Apparently the Galaxy S7 will now sport a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a larger 3,600mAh battery, a bump up from 2,550mAh and 2,600mAh respectively.
Last but not least, it seems that Samsung is bringing back a feature that they skipped out on with its previous flagships, which is dust and water-resistance. The report claims that both devices are said to be IP67 certified, so if you’re the clumsy sort it seems that you can look forward to either phone continuing to function even if it took a short dip in the pool. As expected with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the February launch rumors pan out so official details will be revealed soon.
