We know when you hear about video game movies, you cringe a little, and we don’t blame you. We’ve seen what disasters many of them have turned out to be, but hopefully lessons have been learnt because it looks like the Assassin’s Creed movie has officially concluded its filming, in time for its scheduled launch at the end of the year.
This was announced by Assassin’s Creed head of content Azaïzia Aymar on Twitter in which the message read, “It is my honor to announce that #assassinscreedmovie last shot was taken minutes ago! Congratulations guys!!!” What this means is that post-production work will now begin, which will hopefully transform into a great movie.
Considering that Assassin’s Creed is one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, we’re sure there’s a lot more than just the movie riding on this. Ubisoft had vouched for the movie (unsurprisingly) back in November, calling it “extremely promising”. Stills from the movie have also shown characters in costume, which we have to say looks pretty good.
Assassin’s Creed the movie has been pegged for a release on the 21st of December where it will star Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, and Michael Kenneth Williams. The official trailer for the movie has yet to be released, but you can bet we are excited for when it does.
