There’s just something about games and Christmas that’s never without any troubles. You might remember last year that both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live came under distributed denial of service attacks which left many unable to play games online. If you’ve been wondering why some EA games have been giving you trouble on Christmas eve, that’s because EA is experiencing some down time, though it promises to have the issues resolved soon.
Multiple hacking outfits have already issued threats to attack gaming services such as PSN, Xbox Live and even Minecraft and Steam. Apparently the reason why they have issued these threats it’s because they want to force these companies to improve their systems so that such attacks become ineffective.
While one can consider that to be a noble cause, I’m not quite sure it sits well with those who look forward to the holidays all year just to get to play games for as long as they want, not allowing them that comfort really isn’t the way to go about this in my view.
It doesn’t appear that EA servers have been hit by an attack from those hacking groups. Games like Madden NFL 16, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Titanfall are some of those which have been affected, EA has acknowledged the troubles and says that it’s working to resolve these issues “as fast as possible.”
