Monkey see, monkey do, or so the saying goes. After the roll out of the highly anticipated YouTube Music application, Vevo, a music video streaming app that actually distributes videos to YouTube with Google being seen to be one of their investors, has decided to upgrade its own music app to ensure that users end up with a new experience. This total revamp from ground up will appear on the iOS platform first, where the main focus of the new app would be on personalization and curation.
Streaming services realize how important that personalization has become today, as individuals have their very own likes and dislikes, not to mention having a vast amount of media that one has to sift through before settling down on something that one likes.
The onboarding experience from Vevo will require users to first input their favorite artists so that Vevo’s recommendation algorithms can be trained, and as your likes and interests are being considered, different aspects of the new app will ensure that those information will be put to good use, especially when it comes to showing off the most recent content from your favorite artists. Those who are interested can pick up the updated Vevo app from the iOS App Store.
