Hasbro is a company that many of us are familiar with. The company has been around for a while now making all kinds of toys, and there is a good chance that you might have grown up with it, or if you’re a parent, you might have bought something for your kids. Basically the company makes toys for young people.
However it looks like the company has plans to expand beyond their typical demographic by launching what they are calling the “Joy For All” line. Basically these are robotic cats designed for the elderly in mind, giving them a companion that they won’t have to clean up after or feed, but at the same time being able to respond like a normal pet would.
According to Hasbro’s description, “JOY FOR ALL Companion Pet cats are designed to bring comfort, companionship and fun for your elder loved ones. With realistic fur, purrs and meows – and sensors that respond to petting and hugs with familiar, cat-like actions – Companion Pets deliver a soothing, joyful experience that inspires smiles, laughter and fond memories for people of all ages.”
It probably does not have the capabilities like Sony’s AIBO robotic dog, but we reckon if all you want is something to pet and hold in your arms, this should get the job done. There are several color variations that customers can choose from, with each “pet” priced at $99.99.
