A couple of months ago, LG launched the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition with LTE. This is the second-gen LG Watch Urbane and the watch continues the same classy design as its predecessor, but if there was one major change that wasn’t really marketed, it is the fact that the watch runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
This makes it the first Android Wear device to do so, and that begs the question as to when other Android Wear devices will get the update. The good news is that Google has recently acknowledged this and has promised that other Android Wear devices will be getting the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the coming months.
Unfortunately as is the nature with updates, there are no specific dates for a release so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. According to Google, “Currently, all other Android Wear watches implement API 22, and in the coming months, these will receive an OTA update for API 23 as well.”
This post by Google is namely aimed at developers who want to be updated as to what kind of changes the update will bring about, but we guess end-users will probably be interested too especially if they wish to run the latest version of Android Wear on their devices. In any case we’ll be keeping an eye out for its release.
