Google Keep and Photos are two apps that come pre-loaded on almost all Android devices, and since they happen to be quite useful as well, they are popular among users on Google’s mobile platform. New updates have been sent out for both Google Keep and Google Photos, the update brings some cool new features for both applications.

Aside from the ever-present bug fixes and performance improvements the apps have received new features in the latest update. Google had confirmed a few days back that Keep will soon be updated with drawing features, and that’s precisely what has happened today. The ability to draw allows users to just doodle ideas on the app as they would on a notepad, the feature can be used to doodle on images as well that are embedded in the notes.

Drawing in the app is quite easy, just tap on the “Add drawing” option and select the pen, pick the style and color and you’re set. There’s a selection tool and eraser if you want to tweak the drawing a bit.

The latest update for Google Photos adds face grouping feature for more countries including but not limited to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The feature allows you to search for old photos of someone, faces can be privately labeled in the app to use with this search feature.

It’s also possible now to hide a person’s photos using groups and labels, this will make sure that all photos of that person stored in Google Photos aren’t brought up again in the “Rediscover this day cards.”

The updated Google Keep and Google Photos apps can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
