One of the notable features of the upcoming iPad Pro is the Apple Pencil. Essentially this is a stylus to the tablet and will cost a whopping $100, making it pretty expensive as far as styli are concerned. This also means that you will want to take good care of it because replacing it will be a costly practice.
That being said so far based on what we’ve seen, Apple has shown that one way you can charge the Apple Pencil is by plugging it into a Lightning port on the iPad Pro (or any other Lightning port for that matter). It’s a clever idea since it draws power directly from the tablet, thus negating the need for external sources, but it is a bad design.
As the Apple Pencil is jutting out rather oddly, it also means that an accidental push could snap it or bend the Lighting connector. However thanks to the folks at 9to5Mac, they have gotten their hands on an image that shows a charging adapter for the Apple Pencil. As you can see in the image above, this allows users to connect a Lighting cable to the Apple Pencil.
This means that you can charge it via a wall outlet or your computer where its position isn’t as awkward. Of course you can always choose to charge it via the iPad Pro but if you’d rather not spend $100 on a new stylus every month, this adapter sounds like a very good idea.
