iPhone-6-review-1

Read almost any rumor or report about the expected features of iPhone 6S and there’s one feature that you’re likely to find in every report and that’s Force Touch. Apple debuted this display technology with the Apple Watch and it has long been rumored that Force Touch will be expanded to the company’s smartphones with iPhone 6S. A new report suggests that iPhone 6S Force Touch will be able to recognize three different kinds of taps.

According to a new report by 9to5Mac the Force Touch feature of the iPhone 6S is going to be called “3D Touch Display” primarily because it’s going to be capable of recognizing three different kinds of taps.

Not only will the display be able to recognize presses and taps but it will also recognize a deep press, that’s three different methods in total and suddenly the “3D Touch Display” moniker starts to make sense.

Since this will be the first time that an iPhone has offered three different input methods Apple will certainly have a big job on its hands to educate users about this major change, and app developers will obviously have to make the required changes to ensure that these input methods actually serve some purpose in their apps and games.

None of this has been confirmed by Apple as yet, the company never does confirm these things, so we’ll have to wait for its event on September 9th to find out for sure.
