I suppose many things in life are neutral – it is what we do or make of it that ends up changing the particular situation. Take Facebook for instance – if you were to use it the right way, it is ideal to keep in touch with family and friends from all over the world, but if you were to utilize it the wrong way like sexual predators do, then there are consequences which will follow suit. Apparently, an 11-year old girl decided to sign up for Facebook so that she can seek for sexual relief from other men, which shocked her father who subsequently decided to sue Facebook.
The reason for the lawsuit? The father claims that Facebook is responsible for exposing his 11-year old daughter to sexual predators, and this happened because the social network did not implement its age restriction rule, as Facebook supposedly enables sign-ups for those who are 13 years of age at the very least.
The girl in question was said to own multiple Facebook account with fake ages, and has also put up her fair share of suggestive photos. Sensitive information of her home address and her school were also up for all to see, and she allegedly picked up some disturbing pictures from predators, too. Facebook has since deleted her accounts, but her father is not too pleased and hopes that more can be done to prevent something like this from ever happening again.
