Yesterday Apple released an app for Android called Move to iOS. While it might claim to be an app that helps facilitate the move to iOS from Android devices, there are some who view this move as arrogance on Apple’s part. After all it does seem rather brazen of Apple to walk into “enemy territory” and hawk their products, right?
Unsurprisingly the majority of the Android community isn’t too happy about this and has since bombarded the app with 1-star ratings. If you were to head on to Google Play, you will notice that close to 2,000 ratings gave it a 1-star. There are close to 500 who gave it 5-stars, most of which are from users who have actually used it to make the switch to iOS.
As for the 1-star reviews, many seem to come from Android users who used it as a platform to voice their criticism for iOS. One reviewer states, “Apple’s first contribution to Android and this is what they offer? Ridiculous. Google has dozens of apps in the Apple App Store, none of which attempt to move users away from Apple and into Android.”
However there are some who actually used it and it works just fine. If you are truly planning to make the switch to iOS, don’t let the 1-star ratings fool you as the app should work as advertised. Of course there are other ways to go about exporting/importing your contacts, photos, and bookmarks, and this is just one of them.
