It was rumored last month that Samsung could have an 18.4-inch tablet in the works. This was later sort of confirmed when it was teased at IFA 2015, with Samsung stating that they would talk more about the tablet next month. For those who are still skeptical, here’s a bit more proof as the tablet has recently been certified by the Bluetooth SIG.
Now we should note that the Bluetooth SIG certification does not reveal any of its specs nor confirms its 18.4-inch display. However it does list the model number which seems to be in line with what we have been hearing about, so chances are it is the same tablet. Either that or we have been following the wrong device all this while.
So far what we know about the device is that it will be possibly be known as the Galaxy View. It will feature an 18.4-inch TFT LCD display with a Full HD resolution, which is pretty much like a monitor. There will also be a Samsung Exynos 7580 chipset with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, microSD support, and a 5,700mAh battery.
It is also rumored to come with Android 5.1 Lollipop. Now given its size, chances are it is isn’t really meant for consumers to bring around with them. It might have a place in the living room, or the board room where it can be used for presentations, or maybe even commercial use. Either way hopefully we will find out more come October.
