Earlier this week Archos unveiled the Diamond S smartphone. This was a device that was priced rather affordably at around $250, but if you’re after a smartphone but would much prefer a tablet, you’re in luck as Archos has unveiled an affordable tablet as well. Dubbed the Diamond Tab, this Android tablet will only set you back around $275.
So what can you expect to get from a tablet this cheap? For starters despite its $275 price tag, the Archos Diamond Tab is a pretty decently specced tablet. It will feature a 7.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2048×1536 which is pretty good. Under the hood, the tablet will be powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor.
There will also be 3GB of RAM accompanying the device along with 32GB of storage. If that isn’t enough for you, the Diamond Tab will also support microSD cards for memory expansion. There will be a 5MP rear-facing camera, 4G LTE support, and a decently sized 4,800mAh battery with android 5.1 Lollipop running the show.
In terms of availability, Archos expects that the tablet should start making its way to the masses in October, so if the Diamond Tab sounds like a value for money purchase, then you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for it.
