Minecraft and Lego both have huge fan followings so there’s a chance that this might spark debates about which one is better, but if Minecraft isn’t proving to be fun for you perhaps you might like to try Lego’s new game which is actually a Minecraft rival. Lego has launched the new game today and it’s called Lego Worlds, it is available right now through Steam early access which is basically a paid beta program through which you can purchase games that are still in development.
Lego Worlds is similar to Minecraft is a number of ways, first and foremost, it has procedurally generated worlds which players can then modify to create essentially whatever they want.
Since this is a Lego effort, whatever players created in those worlds will be made out of Lego bricks. The game does include buildings, vehicles and other content that’s based on real Lego playsets. Customizable Minifig characters are included as well.
The Lego Worlds’ page on Steam reads: “Lego Worlds enables you to populate your worlds with many weird and wonderful characters, creatures, models, and driveable vehicles, and then play out your own unique adventures.”
Lego Worlds is only available for Windows at this point in time, and its full-version is expected to be released later this year. The full version will include social features like online multiplayer and much more.
