Last week we reported that a man had sent the folks at Bethesda over 2,000 bottle caps which he claim was for payment of Fallout 4. According to him, he believes that his bottle caps currency is valid given that the game was listed in “pre-war dollars”, and was optimistic that his stunt was too large for Bethesda to ignore or turn him down.
Turns out he was right. Bethesda has since responded and for those hoping for a happy ending, you’ve got your wish as the studio has confirmed that they will accept his payment in bottle caps. According to an update posted by GatorMacheteJr, he too confirms that Bethesda will be accepting his payment.
Bethesda’s Matt Grandstaff was the one who reached out to him. According to GatorMacheteJr, “He told me since I was the first person to do this, I would be receiving a copy of the game this November, and that he would be running my caps over to deposit them at the People’s Bank of Point Lookout.” We suppose based on his statement, it looks like Bethesda has no plans to accept more bottle caps, so you probably shouldn’t try your luck.
Grandstaff also posted a photo on his Twitter showing that the bottle caps have indeed arrived at Bethesda’s offices along with a caption that reads, “Yes, my office smells like beer #Fallout4”. Good job Bethesda!
