For the most part, Nintendo has kept its intellectual property very close to its chest, unlike other companies who are more than happy to license out its characters, titles, and franchises. However it seems that over the years, Nintendo has been slowly relaxing their grip and for those who would love to explore Nintendo Land for real, your wish has been granted.
The Japanese gaming company has recently announced that they have inked a deal with Universal Studios in which it would see the creation of a Nintendo theme park which will most likely feature popular characters from Nintendo’s franchises such as Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Wario, and etc.
However it seems that the deal is still very new as both companies have yet to announce what kind of attractions we might be able to expect. Presumably both companies have some kind of idea as to what they want theme park goers to experience, but perhaps it’s still too early to share those details with the public.
According to the press release, “Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts today announced plans to bring the world of Nintendo to life at Universal theme parks – creating spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.” Either way it sounds like exciting times are ahead but in the meantime, what kind of ride or attraction would you like to see Nintendo and Universal Studios come up with? Real-life Mario Kart, maybe?
