Samsung’s smartwatches have all featured square-ish designs which is fine, but there are some who might prefer a more traditional round face and the good news is that Samsung has confirmed it. However in terms of design, the folks at SamMobile have recently heard from their sources that the company could be teaming up with artists and fashion brands on creating unique bands for the device.
According to their report, Samsung could be working with artists such as Romero Britto who is an artist based out of Miami. Britto is a name that has been linked with Samsung in the past as he has helped create custom cases for Samsung’s Galaxy S-series of handsets. Other brands that might be involved include Z Zegna, Swarovski, Tech21, Anymode, and Incipio.
Swarovski is also another name that might be familiar in the tech industry. While they do make crystal-based jewelry, the company has also teamed up with Samsung in the past and has also dabbled in creating custom bands for wearables like the Samsung Gear S and even the Misfit Shine.
It is unclear as to what the final result will be like, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any potential leaks that might surface. No word on when Samsung will unveil their next-gen smartwatch, but with IFA 2015 being the event that Samsung typically launches new products at, perhaps we will learn more then, although that could be a while coming.
