It has been rumored in the past as well that Yahoo might be looking to acquire Foursquare. Those rumors are now gathering steam once again. There’s a new report out today which claims that Yahoo is once again looking to buy Foursquare, the company that’s behind a popular local search app as well as Swarm, a location based check-in app. There has been no official comment from both companies to take this with a grain of salt.

According to a source who spoke to TechCrunch the “deal is done,” but some of the finer details are still being hammered out. The scribe claims it has heard from multiple sources that the deal really is done, so we should expect an official announcement in the very near future.

It gets interesting though. The scribe also claims that some of its sources at Yahoo are saying that they’ve heard absolutely nothing about a potential acquisition of Foursquare. Either only a select few people have been told about this deal or there’s just no truth to all this acquisition talk.

It’s unclear right now if other suitors are in play as well who could potentially pull Foursquare under Yahoo’s fingers, there isn’t any indication of that just yet.

As far as what Yahoo might shell out to buy this company is concerned, apparently the price has been set around the $900 million mark.
