It seems that Xiaomi of China has been working on a new handset, where it carries the nickname “Ferrari” – and you can more or less say that to have a nickname like that would mean it will be a high end model, otherwise why add on the burden of such heavy expectations? Having said that, leaked hardware specifications of the alleged Xiaomi Ferrari has hit the grapevine, where it disappoints, especially since the hardware looks to depict it as a mid-range device rather than being a high end model.
It seems that there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC with an octa-core 1.65GHz CPU underneath the hood, and that will be mated to the likes of 2GB RAM. Your eyes should be treated to a 4.9” touchscreen display that will boast 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.
At the back of the handset would be a 12MP camera which is full well capable of handling Full HD video, not to mention HDR modes. Right up in front, selfie lovers will definitely find good value in the 4.8MP camera. Expect Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to be the operating system of choice save that it comes with the MIUI layer atop. It would be interesting to see how Xiaomi will position this device when it is eventually released.
