LG is back under the spotlight where rumors are concerned, with the South Korean consumer electronic giant’s name being bandied about as the manufacturer of the upcoming Nexus handset. How did this particular rumor come about, anyway? First of all, there was a visit done by Google engineers over to the LG headquarters earlier this week, which then sent the rumor mill into working overtime that LG could very well take up the responsibility of churning out the next Nexus device.
Of course, LG would not be the only name that is being bandied about, since Huawei is also another company that is in the running to deliver the next generation Nexus smartphone, thanks to its very own 64-bit octa-core Kirin chipset.
LG has had experience churning out Nexus devices in the past, with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones being their handiwork, while the latest Nexus 6 was developed and manufactured by Motorola. Should LG receive such an honor, they would be ahead of Samsung in the number of Nexus handsets produced. I suppose with rumors such as these, all that one needs to do is to sit tight and wait until the rumor either becomes truth or is debunked.
