Earlier this week Apple confirmed the date for its Apple Watch event, which is now less than a week away, at the event we expect to hear more information about the smartwatch’s features as well as the final lowdown on its pricing and availability. A new report today sheds some light on a feature that Apple might unveil at its event. We’re told about “Power Reserve” which is a low-energy mode that will allow the Apple Watch to keep going even when its battery is running on fumes.
Battery life isn’t just a concern for the Apple Watch. That’s a concern customers share when they’re in the market for a new wearable device. Like other smartwatches that have arrived to market before it the Apple Watch is also expected to offer just enough battery life that might get users through one day.
A report from The New York Times, citing Apple employees who are involved with the project, claims that the Power Reserve mode will allow the smartwatch to keep on showing the time even when there’s very little battery left. None of the other features that the smartwatch offers will be accessible.
This most essential feature of a watch is to display the time and this feature will ensure that users don’t lug around a smartwatch on their wrist that has died on them due to no power. At least on the Apple Watch they’ll be able to view the time when it comes to that.
