Thinking about pre-ordering the Apple Watch? You can do so starting on the 10th of April but here’s the kicker, according to a report apparently pre-ordering the Apple Watch will have some limitations, such as users being unable to choose the band/case combination of their Apple Watch.
Basically what this means is that Apple will have cases/band combinations available on their website, but if for some reason you want to choose your own case and band combination, that will not be possible during the pre-order phase. It is expected that perhaps later on more customizability will be unlocked, but there is a good chance that the rumors about supply constraints might have to do with Apple trying to keep the combinations to a minimum at the start.
That being said users can still choose their favorite combination, except that they might have to purchase the straps separately. So if you wanted a case/band combination that isn’t listed on Apple’s website, you’d have to buy the watch and buy the band separately which will cost you extra. It doesn’t sound ideal but that’s what the rumors are claiming at the moment.
Considering that the Apple Watch already costs $350 at the cheapest, spending extra on a band will probably not be looked upon favorably, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding the wearable’s pre-order status.
