Microsoft has promised that a Windows 10 for Phones preview release is going to take place in the near future however the company hasn’t said exactly when it will come out. A preview version of Windows 10 for PC is already out and is being tested by a large number of people. Windows Phone users will get their chance in due time but it doesn’t look like the rumored release date for the preview is true.
It was rumored earlier this week that Microsoft is going to release Windows 10 for Phones preview on February 4th. That would be tomorrow. Microsoft neither confirmed nor denied the rumor which just added to the mystery.
There’s word now from someone at the company. Microsoft’s Gabe Aul revealed earlier today on Twitter that rumors of a release on the 4th are just rumors. Aul says that “we’re working on it” but goes on to say that the February 4th release date for Windows 10 for Phones is just a rumor.
Sadly Aul doesn’t even hint when the preview will be released and we’re still in the dark about that. It can not be said for sure right now how much longer will Microsoft need to work on it before it deems the preview fit enough for public consumption.
