Say you have some friends over and you want to offer them a nice cold beer. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could offer them beer straight from the keg instead of giving them a can or bottle from the fridge? That would make for a more authentic bar experience, wouldn’t it? The good news is that if you wouldn’t mind the idea of installing a kegerator in your home, you might be interested in a Kickstarter project for the KegSmart.
The KegSmart Kickstarter project is put together by a company called PicoBrew who are calling it the world’s smartest kegerator. Why/how is it smart? It is smart because there is a WiFi device attached to the kegerator that will be able to relay information to your tablet, such as temperature of the beer, quantity left, type of beer, and etc.
Users will be able to control their kegerator remotely via their mobile devices thanks to the accompanying app, so not only will you be able to pour fresh beer straight from the tap, but you will be able to check on it in a hi-tech manner as well. PicoBrew is selling the KegSmart head unit by itself where it is priced at $199, but for those who want the entire setup including the kegerator, it will cost $799.
