Apple’s first truly “new” product is going to debut in over a month from now. The Apple Watch was unveiled in September last year and at that time the company said that the device will be released in early 2015. Recently CEO Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch will start shipping in April 2015. As per a new report the company has now started training retail employees to get them up to speed so that they can properly facilitate customers once the Apple Watch hits the shelves.

Apple’s new wearable device is priced higher than its rivals but the company is positioning it more like a fashion accessory than a conventional smartwatch. Apple Watch Sport models start from $349.

It has already been reported that the company is fitting new safes in its stores which will house the more expensive models of its wearable device, particularly the 18K gold Apple Watch Edition models, which some expect will be sold for as much as $5,000.

Customers who come in to purchase the expensive models might receive an experience similar to luxury jewelry or watch boutiques. Select Apple stores might even be renovated to incorporate the section where only the Apple Watch Edition models will be sold.

Retail employees will obviously need to be at the top of their game and the timing is just about right for them to receive training. Apple has not revealed yet exactly when in April the Apple Watch will finally go on sale.
