Somewhere buried within Netflix’s Q4 financial report are not just figures to interpret and analyze, as there are at times, interesting information which can be gleaned if you are careful. It seems that The Interview, the hit movie among Torrent users at the end of last year, will be streamed to subscribers who are based in the U.S. as well as in Canada from this Saturday onward. In other words, this Sony Pictures movie is up for streaming in approximately a month after it saw a limited release in theaters last Christmas, in addition to releases via video on demand that actually saw it net $40 million online. Not only that, those who are waiting for a physical copy of the movie will have to be patient, as the Blu-ray release will only be happening this February 17th.
Apart from that, we also learned that Netflix’s first movie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Destiny is tipped to debut just about everywhere this coming August 26th, arriving at IMAX screens simultaneously as when it premieres on Netflix. It looks like movies in 2015 are also going to continue to be interesting, as there is a fair number of movies that are being drawn up in the pipeline.
