While we expect the upcoming HTC One M9 to pack some pretty impressive specs under the hood and design to match, not everyone will be able to afford HTC’s flagship phone, which is why HTC has also been churning out handsets that are part of their Desire lineup that are more affordable, albeit with less powerful specs.
Now for those who are wondering if HTC might have new Desire handsets in the works, you’re in luck because thanks to @upleaks, new photos of the HTC Desire 626 have made their way online. The handset sports a somewhat colorful and vibrant design and will most probably be positioned to the younger market.
Its specs aren’t much to shout about, but if the rumors are to be believed we could be looking at a 5-inch HD display with a MediaTek octa-core chipset under the hood clocked at 1.7GHz accompanied by 2GB of RAM. It is also rumored to come in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 variant clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM, although this has yet to be confirmed.
The HTC Desire 626 will also come with 16GB of onboard storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2,000mAh battery. It is also said to come with Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled and will receive a Android 5.0 update later. No word on when the phone will be launched, but there is a good chance we could learn more at MWC 2015, so check back with us then for the details.
