Vimeo, the popular video sharing service, has just introduced a brand new mobile site which will deliver something that many of its users have been waiting for, which would be the “Watch Later” option, although that alone is not the only thing that this new mobile site offers. In fact, the new mobile site would play down the importance of navigation, but instead, chooses to focus on full screen video playback.
In order to achieve this particular effect, the team over at Vimeo had to make a fair number of changes underneath the hood so that the speed is of a decent count when it comes to mobile device performance. The Watch Later feature will allow you to like videos and save them, without requiring you to actually log in in the first place. The moment you have completed watching a video, you will then be served with a bunch of recommendations that ought to capture your rapt attention. Right now, Vimeo has over 30 million registered members, laying claim to having a monthly reach of 170 million people.
It is said that there will be more features that are in the pipeline in the Vimeo mobile site, where among them would include integration with their native apps. [Press Release]
