If you’re an avid runner who takes part in marathons, or if you’re just a runner who runs for health and fitness, a Kickstarter project for a device called the Stridalyzer might be of interest to you. So what is it? Well the Stridalyzer is basically an insole designed with runners in mind. Thanks to the sensors built into the insole, it will be able to analyze the way you run and also offer you corrections to improve yourself.
According to the description of the Stridalyzer, “Stridalyzer uses a pair of insoles with a novel, patent-pending technology with multiple sensors integrated in them, to detect how your foot lands, rolls and pushes off the ground.” The device will also pair with an accompanying smartphone app that will alert the user if they’re doing something wrong.
That way users can keep concentrating on their run and will only need to pay attention to their form if and when the app alerts them to it. The Stridalyzer will also be able to monitor the stress placed on your foot and knee in real-time, so if you’re wondering why you’re starting to feel tired or feeling any signs of pain, the app should be able to tell you why. It’s also a good idea for those who tend to overtrain.
It’s an intriguing project and one that we’re sure many runners would love to have, especially if you’re the type that loves to run marathons and are wondering how you might be able to improve your times or how to better train yourself. The creators of the Stridalyzer are seeking $25,000 in funding so if you’d like to learn more or pledge your support, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
