Last time it used to be that if we wanted to watch a movie with good quality imagery and sound, we would have to head to a cinema to do so. However with technology advancing rapidly, we are able to achieve those levels of quality, if not better in some cases, all from the comfort of our living rooms.
If you’re in the market for a new TV, you might be interested to learn that LG has recently announced that they are planning on debuting new TV panels at CES 2015 which is taking place early January. These new TV panels are part of LG’s Art Slim series which will combine a slim profile and lightweightedness for those who don’t want a bulky looking TV in their living room.
These new Art Slim TV panels will come in 55-inch and 65-inch options and will measure 7.5mm and 8.2mm respectively, which is actually mighty thin especially when you consider that there are some phones and tablets out there which are actually thicker. They will also weigh 10.4kg and 16.2kg respectively which will hopefully reduce the overall weight of the final product.
No word on which companies will be adopting LG’s Art Slim TV panels, but the company has revealed that they have already started to supply customers in China with the component and expects to expand to a full lineup ranging from 49-inches to 65-inches come 2015.
