While Nokia’s cellphone division is officially owned by Microsoft, the other part of Nokia is still alive and well and according to a recent job listing, it seems that Nokia could be planning on making new hardware. Nokia’s plans to re-enter the consumer market isn’t new, but so far we haven’t really seen anything yet.
According to the job listing, “You will lead the product management activities for a new category of device products, including defining the product proposition and business opportunity.” It is interesting that the job listing talks about a new category of products which has us wondering what it could be?
Another job listing also mentions experience with mobile phones is required, “Wide knowledge and experience in product development for mobile phone development.” Now we have heard rumors that Nokia could be planning an Android smartphone that could be designed by the team behind the Nokia N9, and the company’s attempts at the Nokia Z Launcher has shown their interest in the mobile market.
Of course all of this remains to be seen, but Nokia has teased an announcement for the 17th of November so perhaps we will learn more then. In the meantime what are you most excited for? New smartphones? Wearables?
