It wasn’t too long ago that Sony unveiled the SmartWatch 3, and for those who are looking to get their hands on the smartwatch, you might be interested to learn that the device has recently made its way onto the Google Play Store, as you can see in the screenshot above. Unfortunately a release date for the watch has yet to be determined.
However it has been listed as “coming soon” and is priced at $250. The SmartWatch 3 will be powered by Android Wear, which is something that Sony had earlier stated that they no plans of doing so, but we guess they decided that perhaps hopping on board the Android Wear bandwagon could be the way to go, given how ubiquitous Android devices are.
The SmartWatch 3 will feature a 320×320 display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under its hood. It will also be accompanied by 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, and will come with a GPS chip of its own that users can use to track their workouts (like where they have been running) without the need to constantly pair it with a smartphone.
The wearable can also have its bands swapped out for different colors, but it is unclear if these bands will be offered via the Google Play Store as accessories. In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for its launch, so check back with us later for the details.
