Facebook is the world’s largest social network with more than one billion users around the world. Today all of those users have yet another method of leaving a comment on a post, picture, video or share. Those of you who use the Facebook Messenger app will be familiar with stickers, they’re like emojis on steroids. Now it is possible for any and all Facebook users to leave stickers as comments on Facebook.
Engineer Bob Baldwin explained on Facebook, obviously, that stickers support for comments started out as a hackathon project in New York with another engineer. The prototype for the web was built in a single night and when it was put through a trial phase with employees they happened to love it.
Later support for built for mobile web at a hackathon in California and then support for both iOS and Android apps followed soon. Comments now support stickers across web, mobile web and apps on iOS as well as Android. It should take a day or so for support to roll out to Facebook’s entire user base.
To insert a sticker in comments just tap the smiley face icon in the bottom right of the comments field and pick a sticker that you want to send. It will be available for all posts even in groups and events.
